Alduin the World Eater Dragon Cake by Vera / Baking Obsession
Based on the special Skyrim Collector’s Edition sculpture, Vera made this incredible Alduin Dragoncake, straight out of the early Era’s and ready to get Dragoneated. Vera explains the arduous process of making Alduin below: “It was made of four 13″x18″ sheets of chocolate cake, soaked in strawberry syrup, and sandwiched with bittersweet strawberry ganache (5 lbs of chocolate). Alduin’s core is made of modeling chocolate. His scales, horns, and spikes are made from gum paste. The double-sided wings are half-and-half (fondant/gum paste). His eyes are Swarovsky crystals. At first, I planned to make them edible from isomalt, but these ruby-like gems were so perfect in their brightness and size, so I changed my mind. I knew Tim would never ever let anybody have a bite from Alduin, so a couple unedibles seemed OK. On the stone it says “Happy Birthday Tim” transcribed in Dragon alphabet”. Vera officially wins the award for best mom of all time.

Rainbow Pega-Corn Birfday Cake by Heather Sherman
Made for her daughter’s 7th birthday who requested a ”Rainbow Unicorn pegasus with a mama and a baby”. The head and legs are made of krispy-treat, while the wings had a wire ‘bone’ laced through them and are covered in gumpaste feathers. The inside was golden vanilla cake and as my compatriot at OW pointed out, the baby was probably the best part. Personally, eating a pegasus or unicorn baby first thing in the morning is how I keep my hair so lustrous.
